The Geranium Ballerina

Plant in garden beds, planters and hanging baskets.

Make sure you plants get at least 6 hours of sun each day and are protected from strong winds.

Use a well drained mildly acidic soil for best plant growth.

If planting in containers, choose planters that will be large enough to support growth of the plant. If you find the plant wilting between watering, this may be a sign that it needs to be repotted. Make sure there is adequate drainage and take care not to overwater.

Indoor geraniums will flower if put in a very sunny spot. Make sure they are in a container large enough for the plant with good drainage. Fertilize every month spring through summer and every other month fall through winter.

The Ballerina can make a great addition to any garden. Geranium multisectum is a lovely, soft herbaceous perennial. The geranium is said to be a great tick repellent. They can be grown as a bedding, in containers or a hanging plant.

Serious diseases of geranium, especially bacterial blight, southern wilt, Pseudomonas leaf spot, and rust, can arrive at your greenhouse on cuttings. The wild geranium is a favorite in a country garden and forms large clumps 12 to 24 inches in height. Cut-leaved geranium is an early spring flowering perennial. Geranium plants tend to break and wilt in windy locations so plant them in a protected area.
