The geranium herb scented plant is great for gardens and as a medicinal herb. Made into a tea, the geranium is said to help with all forms of anxiety as well as “womens” problems. As a scented plant in the garden, there are many varieties with different scents such as lemon, nuts, rose, spices and even citronella.
Planting Tips For Herb Scented
Geraniums can be grown indoors, outdoors in containers and planted in flower beds.
Geraniums need 6 hours of sun every day to flourish so plant them in a spot that is at least partially sunny.
Plant the geranium in an area that has good drainage and slightly acidic soil.
If planting in containers, choose planters that will be large enough to support growth of the plant. If you find the plant wilting between watering, this may be a sign that it needs to be repotted. Make sure there is adequate drainage and take care not to overwater.
Geraniums can be nice to have indoors to brighten up a dull winter. Make sure you put them in a very sunny spot and use a well drained potting mix. Optimum temperatures for these plants is 65 degrees in the day and 55 at night.
