The Geranium Macrorrhizum
Geranium macrorrhizum is a favorite garden plant which makes a nice ground cover of light purple white flowers. It blooms in June and July and can be grown in full sun or partial shade.
The leaves are a bit pungent and thus it is deer resistant.
Planting Tips For Macrorrhizum
For outdoor planting, geraniums will grow just as good in containers as they will in the garden bed.
Geraniums need 6 hours of sun every day to flourish so plant them in a spot that is at least partially sunny.
Plant the geranium in an area that has good drainage and slightly acidic soil.
Geraniums grow nicely in patio containers and planters. Make sure you use a soil mixture that drains well (soil and peat moss or perlite) and do not over water. It is important to keep your plant in a container that is large enough to support growth or you will find the plant will wilt and look unhealthy.
Indoor geraniums will flower if put in a very sunny spot. Make sure they are in a container large enough for the plant with good drainage. Fertilize every month spring through summer and every other month fall through winter.
Make sure you check Your Macrorrhizum for signs of pests and diseases
