Geranium Red Seeds Of Wisdom

The oils from the geranium can be used to help relieve stress as well as improve skin and hair Producing essential oils around the leaves and flowers, this plant is native to South Africa and adorns gardens around the world. The healing oils are most potent right as the plant begins to flower.

The oil of the Geranium makes a good astringent and can be diluted with water and used topically to help clean the face or in a bath . It also has great antiseptic properties and is said to help restore the balance to dry or oily skin and hair. You can also make a tea with the leaves and flowers or an oil infusion. The geranium is considered to be safe for most people (those with an autoimmune disease and those who are pregnant should avoid it) and can be used as an herb in cooking as well.

The wild geranium is also called the Carolina geranium and is a semi-erect winter annual which is found throughout the United States and Canada. Geranium plants tend to break and wilt in windy locations so plant them in a protected area. It is commonly found in moist wooded areas or along stream banks, and can be easily recognized. They are fairly hardy, although not disease free and you must want their leaves carefully.

Geraniums are loved for their colorful blossoms and aromatic oil.
