The geranium has astringent and antiseptic properties and is reputed to help with ailments of the skin as well as be a claming herb for stressful times. In addition, it can be used in cooking and is considered safe, although those who are pregnant or have an autoimmune disease should avoid eating it.

Other healing properties of Geraniums include relief from symptoms of PMS and menopause, help in healing cuts, bruises, sunburn and eczema. Get The Healing Properties of Geraniums In A Tea:

  • Boil 1 cup water
  • Pour water over leaves (1/4 cup for fresh, 2 teaspoons or dried.
  • Let steep for 5 minutes

    On The Skin:

    A herb compress can be made from water infused with botanical leaves. Make the water the same way you would make a tea – pour boiling water over the dried herb and cover tightly.     For a herbal infusion, you want to infuse olive oil with your herb. Find a jar that can be tightly covered and fill with the botanicals til it is 1” from the rim. Pour in extra virgin olive oil to cover. Sit on the windowsill for 2 weeks. Shake it every day. Strain out the flowers and store in the refrigerator. It should keep for 3 months.
